Historic Autographs & Card Company – Inventory Database
folder_sharedClient Project for Historic Autographs & Card CompanyHistoric Autographs is a trading card company I’ve worked with in the past, creating original artwork, taking photographs, and recently designing an inventory management database in Microsoft Access. They specialize in authenticated artifacts from the past, like autographs, baseball cards, and memorabilia like clothes from famous actors.
By commissioning a custom database, Historic Autographs got an inventory management solution which caters to their particular needs, and database interfaces which cater to their workflows. In addition to managing inventory, it allows them to plan and commit inventory to plan projects, as well as managing and reviewing past projects.
I’ve also had the opportunity to help them with several Excel algorithms, both in connection with the database, and separately. One notable example is an algorithm to create Variable Data for printing from their existing datasets, as well as generate additional dynamic fields. This algorithm has already saved them dozens of hours of manual data entry.
